Walk was nice from McMillan road. Quite steep and open in some places. Make sure to put plenty of sunblock to protect your skin. Shaded areas/The bush had stairs, which were newish and tracks were very well-maintained. Views from the top were refreshing. Would highly recommend going early to get a parking space. No toilets in the area.

It's a quality walk with plenty of up-hill moments to make you rethink your choices. Hwe enjoyed a nice snack at the top and enjoyed the view, a sight to justify the journey.

Wear good shoes as track can be wet and slippery even on a good day

This was an awesome walk - keep in mind because it is Spring, the walkway is VERY muddy still. We did contemplate turning around in some particularly bad places but made it through and the view was definitely worth it. It took about 1 hour up and 45 mins down. A decent level of fitness is required because of the uphill but not too strenuous. Wear good shoes that you are happy to get muddy if you are going in Winter or Spring, but otherwise a nice walk. There isn't a heap of parking though.

The best thing about this place that is not too popular, so if you're looking for a total silence on New Zealand hills and feel the spirit of this countryside, this place is a must go.

Nice walk you can do under an hour one way, through some forest and fields of sheep and cow, with a good 360 look on top
