An wonderful stay at ORL. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4nights/3days. Felix and Kylie are wonderful hosts who make you feel relaxed and welcomed, as do the rest of their incredible team. The accommodation is spacious and well laid out. The food is outstanding, thanks to chef Ryan. I went for 3 days fishing and the guides are exceptional as was the fishing! My wife also had a great time relaxing and exploring the area as she did not fish. Highly recommended.

Just had an amazing couple of days at Owen River Lodge…superb hospitality & generosity from Felix & Kylie. Delicious cuisine by chef Ryan & all in a beautiful remote country setting. And then there’s the fishing!!….just brilliant & that's why it’s known as NZ's finest fishing lodge. Special thanks to ORL fishing guide, Stefano for a fantastic day fishing.
Owen River Lodge run an amazing lodge. It’s well set out, clean and extremely tidy and can see why it’s an award winner. While I went for a fish Kimberley went for a mountain bike ride with another guest up the Glenroy Valley. It was an outstanding stay with exceptional food, great wine and company. Congratulations to Felix, Kylie and the team that make your stay memorable.
The accommodation was superb immaculate and clean great views down to the river Main lodge very comfortable with several public rooms. The food was up to Michelin star quality, well done Ryan. The hosts have years of experience and made you feel comfortable. Even though it is a fishing lodge we were on a package that included a Porsche Boxster for the day. It was fun to hear the fishing tales in the evening over dinner. Some amazing photos of massive fish in the hall. Will go back again.
Hard to come back to reality after a fantastic weekend away at Owen River Lodge. This really is an awesome hosted experience in a beautiful setting. Rave review of the amazing food, the genuine hospitality and just chilling out away from civilisation. A great day flyfishing with awesome results topped it off. Highly recommended for all, whether fishing or not. Huge thanks to our hosts Felix and Kylie, Chef Ryan, fishing guide Adam and faithful walking companion Indi (the black lab)..
I have visited this lodge several times after being widowed 8 years ago. I don't fly fish but loved the ambience, attention to detail from the staff and the most incredible meals. I was surprised how few Kiwis were there enjoying this beautiful spot. For a solo traveller I highly recommend a visit.
Owen River Lodge is a luxury lodge offering fully catered meals and fly fishing options. Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend here and got the warmest hospitality from Felix, Kylie, Ryan and Indi. Nothing was too much trouble and lots of great recommendations were given to us non-fishing folk. Immaculate suite thanks to the wonderful housekeeping team. Absolutely would recommend ORL and we look forward to returning. Thank you!
