We rented the Great Walks package from Bev's for the Milford Track. The equipment was great. Pickup/dropoff was convenient and easy. They also sell freeze-dried packages for a good price (cheaper than outdoor stores in Te Anau).
Great quality gear - we rented two packs, poles and a billy. Packs were as new, and everything worked well. Thanks Bev!

The gear is the same price regardless of features - you pay the same price for an Osprey pack with an antigravity harness as an old style macpac pack that isn't as comfortable, and you don't know what you'll get until you show up.
I rented tracking pole here and arranged our meeting by phone.
