Unlike other comments I got a great experience. Arrived at around 8am there were about 15 people on the queue. Parked my car on Waiohua Rd.The consulate staff was super friendly and efficient. I got all the documents ready as the passport renewal requirements are clearly showed on the website. And have been told only cost 27 NZD pay when pick up,which is very cheap. Got out at 9:25.

Nice and easy place to get all your visa and doc done. There is about 12 parking space provided by the visa office and if everyone reads the signs both outside in Chinese and in plain English then they would not get their car clamped. Come early as most people come way before opening hours. All the info is posted online for all visa/cert requirements so best to see it all online rather than coming into just ask questions. Print all your original docs just Incase as it’s is mostly needed if not there is a photocopier for 50c per copy. Emailing them they respond within 24 hours. In general I think most of the staff there is professional. The only negative thing is their attitude could be a bit better.

Great place to pray for the Fulon Gong (sp?). I love human rights. Lovely neighbourhood and great views of One Tree Hill.

It's not a good experience in applying the China visa. Parking is a big problem, they have only 10 parking available. If you parked on the WRONG site, you'll be clamp 100%.I parked opposite the main road in the residential area with at least 120 minutes. I was applying for the tourist visa for my daughter. I have well prepared the ticket, the booking of the hotel, the birth certificate, the passport, the photo and a invitation letter from a friend in China. The lady who handled my case asked 'the copy of your friend ID ?' 'First time apply? ' 'Dont you know that? ' I have to go again next week!!!

I'm not surprised when I turned up today with long ques, lack of parking, getting a ticket then waiting for your ticket to be called after a long wait. Whilst waiting I witnessed difficult customers at the counter, not having the right paperwork then arguing, debating and negotiating with the consulate staff at the counter on what they should or should not do or what they haven't provided to them making it even more difficult. If people have read the guidelines on the Chinese visa website then everything should be simple. Welcome to China! This sort of service is quite standard practice throughout China in banks, post offices, driver's licence registries, tax offices, train station ticket offices or any kind of service provided by the Chinese government this is what you will experience 1st hand in China, let alone the Chinese visa office in Auckland. If you have ever lived and worked in China this is the sort of thing that you have to put up with whether you like it or not. I gave 5 stars because this is what I expected, nothing else. It is China.

TIPS FOR GETTING YOUR VISA: Arrive when it opens because it gets busy. You get given a number and then when your number is called, go to the counter and submit your visa application. Have everything ready, so it goes quickly. The staff are really nice and efficient. There is parking outside, but I parked on the street in a 60min park which was fine, but I would rather have gotten there a little earlier and parked outside so I wasn't stressed about getting a ticket! The process took about 65 minutes. I arrived at 9.10 and left around 10.15.

5 star for the security lady on duty today for letting me know where to park and not get towed away. Another 5 star for the customer service lady on counter 3 today 19th June 2019. Had the best experience ever. Got there at 9.30 and was out by 9.48. Received my visa and collect my passport at 3pm in the same day. Very friendly and efficient service. Made everything so easy.

All went surprisingly well. I was in the office for 15 minutes max. Personally, I think it is better to arrive between 10-10.30, as then you are not waiting outside for an hour and the line has cleared by then. Staff were friendly, and my passport could be picked up five days (three working days) later. If you go prepared (look at the website thoroughly) then it should be straightforward; I was pleasantly surprised
