A really good Japanese restaurant in Auckland. Environment is unique and atmosphere is special. Will recommend to my friends who are visiting Auckland.

Found this in place by accident! What a hidden jewel! Dood was wonderful and the atmosphere was genuine. Food was authentic and great care was put into the preparation big every dish! Highly recommend!!!!

Great food!! I ordered the seafood lovers Donburi and it was fantastic, the salmon was delicious. There was a nice atomashphere with a fireplace and moody lighting. This place would be great for a date. Note that the food can be slightly small if you're a big eater, but it was high quality so I didn't mind. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Kura is an absolute delight. We popped in for a quick dinner before a show at the Civic and were very impressed with both the quality of the food and the speed of service. Prices are also very reasonable. We'll be back for sure. Authentic Japanese.

Happy friendly staff, very welcoming. Great food and excellent location to where we were staying. We really enjoyed our time here. We were actually looking for Tanuki's Cave but stumbled next door, into Kura and were not disappointed. Sadly, a little early in the day for us to have some sake, (we had a long day planned) but was sorely tempted. Next time though! I will be back if I am ever in the area again.

Down a serious set of stairs to great restaurant, with an awesome atmopshere. We sat at the bar table and enjoyed fast attentive service and great food. Can't go wrong for a night out with a friend.
