Having visited mirror lake and sadly not capturing what i needed, I was pleasantly surprised to discover "Lake Haynes". Only a short drive from queenstown this is must do on anyone interested in sightseeing or photography, its simply stunning! In my opinion it tops mirror lake on a perfect still day. The reflection and picturesque surrounding looks like something only seen on post cards.

Gorgeous lake track between Arrowtown and Frankton. Great views from any spot on the lake and lots of photo op spots. The well-formed walking track is an easier grade, good for shorter day hikes and inexperienced hikers — or just to enjoy a run or walk the dog. It’ll take you through marshlands, bush, and up to some elevated viewing points over the lake. Especially fantastic on a windless day when the whole lake becomes a mirror.

Went to the A & P show here. It was free for all this year which was lovely. Was a hot but great day. There was a park and ride which was great for parking afar where they would drop you to the showground amd then back to the carpark area. There were many attractions which the kids loved. Had a great day thank you

On a clear day the view of the mountains reflecting off the water of the lake from the Lake Hayes show ground is absolutely stunning. Even an amateur like me can take a postcard worthy picture. If driving between Queenstown and Cardrona it is well worth stopping for a few minutes to take in these amazing views.
