A bit of a drive to get to but stunning for the sunset. Several people had little bonfires on the beach at night. It was really pretty

Really nice walk, challenging on the way up, but worth it for the views. Takes about 3hrs to do the full circuit back along the beach. Would be a really nice picnic lunch destination. Heaps of families swimming at the beach at the start on a nice day.

Awesome walk easy to get to and clearly sign posted directions and information.

Hard work if you start uphill immediately, but after about 40 mins you get AMAZING views and such a variety of surfaces to walk upon.

A beautiful place to explore this summer is Makara - the walkway lets you take in stunning views of the ocean below Getting to this spot is a short uphill hill - then continue along the track over hills and farmland for even more spectacular views Be aware this spot can be quite exposed on a windy day so check the weather before heading out!

Awesome walk. I start at the beach, go up the hill (bit steep and exposed but worth it for the views), explore the bunkers, down the hill to the end of the walkway and back to Makara beach via the coast. Lots of wildlife and great views.

Beautiful in a still day, wild and worth a surf on a windy day
